Clinics

Annual Flu Clinics

You are entitled to a vaccination if you have COPD; CHD; Stroke; Diabetes; Asthma; Renal disease; Liver disease; MS; are immunosuppressed; are pregnant; over 65 years of age.

If you are not sure ask the doctor or nurse.

Diabetes

Led by our Nursing team, this clinic offers advice and general health check-ups to patients diagnosed with diabetes. Patients are invited for reviews and annual health checks. A doctor usually sees patients after they have seen the HCA.

Antenatal Clinic

We no longer have clinics here at the surgery. You will be seen by the Midwife at one of the Health Centres, who will arrange your booking and scans. We usually refer patients for booking for delivery at Royal Bolton Hospital, where scans and routine blood tests are also performed.

Nurse Led Immunisation Baby Clinic

All new babies are invited for an 8 week check with the Doctor and Practice Nurse. On the same day we would like to also do mums post-natal check so that you don’t have to make another appointment. You will also receive appointments for other baby immunisations. These are given by the Practice Nurses.

Immunisations

  • Babies and Preschool Children. Immunisations for babies and preschool children are carried out by the Practice Nurse. Invitations for all the routine immunisations are sent through the post.
  • School Age Children. Routine immunisations are administered by the School Nursing Service (Tel 464570)
  • Adults. See the Practice Nurse for any immunisations.

Contraception

For advice regarding contraception see the GP or either of our Practice Nurse's who have family planning training. Advice is of course confidential.

Methods of contraception offered by the practice include: barrier methods, the "pill" and injectables. The "morning after pill" is also available.

We do not fit IUCDs (coils) in the practice. These can be fitted at the local family planning clinics.

Contraceptive advice and services can also be obtained at the local family planning clinics detailed below. No appointment is necessary.
